As engineers, we focus on solutions; now that the problem is understood, all we have to do is solve it. Our solution starts with a system’s approach. The key is not to focus on single systems, but on a web of simple systems. Start at the local level, implementing solutions from the bottom-up. Our solution ultimately plans FOR failure. Indeed, regardless of the system’s robustness, it will break. So, plan for it; when any one local systems inevitably fails, the web of systems that you establish will survive and thrive.
